What a completely saddening and unbelievable event this is turning into. Every morning I turn on ‘Koschie’ only to find out that the death toll has risen another couple of tens of thousands. And just tonight I hear that the Aussie death toll is not likely to stay at 6 for long – there are reportedly over 1,000 still unaccounted for spread throughout the affected region.
Although I realise that there is nothing I can do other than give financial support to aid agencies, I still can’t help the feeling of helplessness…
On a good note, however, my cousin Tony made it through Bass Straight overnight on ‘Brindabella’ without incident and cruised into Hobart this morning to take 3rd in the line honours of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. Congrats Tony!
