Yes… I’ve been to yet another awesome concert and it’s time to “do yourself a favour” and get your hands on some top Canadian tunes – this time from “54-40″, a bunch of home grown BC blokes from up the road in Chilliwack. It’s quite rare that you can go to a LIVE gig and swear the whole time you are there that you are listening to that band’s CD as the voice and music quality of their performance is simply that good! Ry suggested earlier this year that 54-40 were easily one of the best LIVE Canadian acts and thanks to him and Corrie I was able to witness the magic for myself.
Corrie (Rock101 Breakfast Crew) had to be there a little earlier than performance time as she was presenting the band introduction a few minutes before the guys got out on stage. Getting there a little earlier we were fortunate to sample the sounds of a local group from Victoria named “Jets Overhead”. I instantly took to their style and harmonic presentation… so much so that I marched up to the back of the venue before the night was over and snatched a copy of their debut album “Bridges” for my own audio pleasure.
