One of my readers asked me earlier in the week what the best way was for them to keep track of new posts on my Blog. There’s a number of ways, but a few of them are probably less obvious than others for the simple reason that I haven’t really covered them before.
With this in mind, here’s the main two things that you can take advantage of. The first, anyone can do, and the second is great for those who are probably a little more advanced in their Internet usage and have their heads around what RSS feeds are:
1. Subscribe to email updates
So simple it’s like falling off a bicycle. Simply bung your email addy in the box below and hit the ‘Subscribe’ button.
Check your inbox for a subscription verification email, click on the link listed and “Bob’s your Uncle!”
If I publish any new entries today you will receive an email notification about it first thing tomorrow. It doesn’t get any simpler than that!
2. Subscribe to my Blog RSS feed
These days you can add feeds to just about anything to ensure you don’t miss a beat:
- “Outlook”
- “Thunderbird”
- “My Yahoo!”
- “Gmail”
- “Bloglines”
- “Firefox LIVE Bookmarks”
- “Safari RSS”
- and my personal favourite “Netvibes”.
Here’s the feed address you will need for my Blog: http://feeds.feedburner.com/masey
Remember there’s also a feed available to notify you when comments are left on any of my entries: http://feeds.feedburner.com/MaseyComments
