“What happened to Game Two?” I hear you ask? Well in case you missed it, I can reassure you that you didn’t miss out on anything too exciting. Considering how much Game One would have taken out of the fellas from both teams, it was understandably a sluggish and unattractive game where Luongo looked tired and the Canucks ultimately fell to a better recovered Stars outfit 2-0.
Tonight, however, was a different story altogether! To mix things up a little, I didn’t hook up with my usual crew over at Ry’s for the game and burgers. Instead, I met up with another couple of mates Wes, and local sports broadcaster Jeff Leyland (there’s your free plug mate) over at “Malones Bar and Grill” at Kits Beach. We were all set with a great crew, friendly staff, plenty of TVs, a great atmosphere, $13.50 pitchers of Granville Honey Lager and thankfully a sharp Canucks team who looked in good shape all game. Luie was back on song, the Sedin twins put in another solid set of shifts, and Danish rookie Jannik Hansen has really stepped up which is awesome to see.
Rather than look at the game blow-by-blow, let me cut to the chase and happily report that the Canucks snatched another overtime win away from home (the all important factor), taking the third game 2-1 7:47 in extra time.
Spargs, I know you wanted more highlights, so here’s the stuff you want to see from Game 3 followed by a few pics from tonight.
Apologies for the pics being a little out of focus. Someone knocked the automatic focus switch on my lens to “manual” and nobody noticed at the time…
