Today marked the official handover of my old faithful friend and first digital SLR camera, my Canon 10D, to my Dad while I began a hopefully long and fulfilling relationship with my new equipment – a Canon 40D and 17-85mm USM IS lens kit (see below).
To mark the occasion, Dad and I took off to the Roma Street Parklands in Brisbane’s central business district and set about snapping some of the inner city fauna and flora on offer. There was a fair amount of construction going on throughout the park including the massive excavation (that means a huge hole in the ground in the grassy section we used to kick the footy around in) to install a big rain water tank.
We were still, however, able to get some decent shots of colourful flowers, insects buzzing around and of course some of the curious Eastern Water Dragons that litter the area. Click on the lead image above to view the rest of the shots.
