Did you catch Joaquin Phoenix’s bizarre appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” last night? Well if that wasn’t one of the most awkward interviews you ever did see. In true Letterman style though, he made something out of an uncomfortable performance by Phoenix, and provided laughs for the crowd, even if they were only nervous giggles.

UPDATE: A year and a half after the infamous interview (above), Joaquin returned to the Ed Sullivan Theater to fess up on what his bizarre behaviour was really all about. And Dave? Well Dave just wanted to get his cut of the stunt earnings.
