My mate TJ recently got himself some whiz-bang compact camera with all the bells and whistles, so we took the opportunity today to get out and enjoy almost Spring-like conditions (despite the cold). We started down in Vanier Park and walked the sea wall all the way to Granville Island where we grabbed a pint before the big Canucks game.
Along the way I tried to explain the concepts of depth of field and how to use it to your advantage, aperture and f/stops, shutter speed, light balance and more. We were lucky in that there was plenty to see and lots of people out and about being active – plenty of opportunity to snap away and see what we came up with.
The following few shots are the best of what was a pretty abstract selection of shots I went after today.
