A real quick post to attempt to throw my hat in the ring in terms of predicting the outcome of the 2009 NHL Playoffs which kick off around the US and Canada tomorrow night.
With the help of a slick little online bracket selection application you can find over at http://rinkotology.org/, I’ve predicted how both the Western and Eastern conferences will pan out over the coming weeks by selecting the winning teams in each stage of the push for the Stanley Cup, as well as how many games will be needed for each battle.

As big a Vancouver Canucks fan as I am, I wasn’t about to select them to go all the way this season without a strong belief in the boys in blue. And this season I do… mainly because it’s so obvious that they have a belief and confidence in themselves that we haven’t seen around the club since I arrived in Canada 4 years ago anyway.
So as I see it, it’ll be the Bruins taking it all the way in the East with a 7-game date with the Canucks – the victors in the West.
Regardless of how it all pans out, I’m just looking forward to getting right into some playoffs hockey again! Bring it on, and GO CANUCKS, GO!
