It’s official, I haven’t been this excited about the launch of a studio album for a VERY long time. But, with a mere 30 second sneak peek of one of the tracks on the upcoming Dave Matthews Band album, I have been overcome with both goosebumps and a level of impatience that I don’t think I’ve encountered before.
Yes, in exactly 2 months time, the mighty DMB will release “Big Whiskey & The Groogrux King”, the 7th studio album from arguably the greatest LIVE band on the planet these days.
You’re wondering “Why Groogrux King?” right? Well “Groogrux” is a nickname for the late LeRoi Moore, a founding member of the band who tragically died in August 2008 following an ATV accident on his farm outside Charlottesville, Virginia. A fitting tribute to a sadly lost talent.
Incidentally, I picked up tickets for the Saturday night performance of DMB down at the Gorge on the September long weekend later in the year. The tradition continues… and it will be Carmen’s first trip down to the legendary venue! Two reasons to get impatient now!
