We’re still over 2 months away from Halloween for 2010, but that didn’t stop thousands of undead souls from rising up and roaming the streets of Vancouver this afternoon in a scene reminiscent of Michael Jackson’s infamous “Thriller” video.
Both Robson and Denman Streets were overrun by a thousands-strong swarm of gory, blood-strewn, limb-torn, brain-hungry zombies seeking fresh flesh to munch on as they ultimately made there way down to Beach Park on the sea wall for a rowdy, ghoulish sunset gathering. Nobody in the path of the half-dead march was safe, with a multitude of frights and constant taunting aimed at pedestrians, motorists, and even passengers aboard buses, alike.
So what kind of people undergo this transformation in this annual event? “Normal” people like my mate Alicia – that’s who. Alicia was good enough to post a couple of “before and after” mug shots on her Twitter account that I’ve stolen to give you an idea of what each participant went through to be part of the event.

The entire afternoon was a lot of fun and everyone who got involved had a ball! To find out more about Zombie walks in your city, visit the official Zombie Walk Forum at http://www.zombiewalk.com/forum/.
If you were too scared to come down and check out the walk today, feast your eyes upon some of the images I shot while getting amongst it myself this afternoon.
