Well you can’t say I didn’t warn you! Yes, I have in my hot little hand my brand new, beautiful iPhone 4 which was delivered to me at work today! I did say that its arrival would mark a number of iPhone related posts here on this blog of mine in the days/weeks/months ahead, so it naturally makes sense to show you how easy it is to add my site, represented by its very own custom retina-display-optimised icon, to your iPhone home screen!
Go on… you know you want to!
Step One – Open The Blog in Safari
Launch the Safari browser app on your iPhone, or iPod Touch, and type “www.masey.com.au” or “www.masey.ca” into the address bar.
Step Two – Send the Blog to the Home Screen
With my Blog loaded in the browser, click on the plus icon in the bottom toolbar (shown below left), which will bring up a menu that presents you with three options (below right). Select the “Add to Home Screen” option.
Step Three – Name & Add
All that’s left to do is to name your icon (below left), hit the “Add” button to send it to your home screen, and then move it into a desired position on your series of home screens (below right).
It’s as easy as that!
Of course, this same method can be used to save ANY website to your home screen.
