South Australia’s Motor Accident Commission have taken a different approach in their latest ad campaign, aimed at teenagers, in a bid to curb the high rate of offences committed by the State’s young people – speeding, drink and drug driving and distraction.
The campaign, created by Clemenger, BBDO, Adelaide, and launched last week depicts a number of young people being forced into a number of pretty embarrassing situations all due to the fact that they have lost their license for one reason or another, highlighted by the tagline, “Lose your license and you’re screwed.”
This threat of social embarrassment presented in a semi-humorous way is quite the departure from previous public awareness campaigns seen in Australia which have traditionally adopted quite graphic depictions of the physical horrors that can result from accidents caused by drink-driving.
