Travel and freelance photographer Rob Masefield (Masey) is a native of Brisbane, Australia.
After completing a Bachelor of Business degree at the Queensland University of Technology in 1998, Rob completed a short stint as an Advertising Account Executive in his home town before heading to London, England for a 2-3 year stay. It was during this period, after undertaking extensive travels throughout the UK and Europe, that he developed an insatiable travel bug and a subsequent love for photography.
Over the next 7 years, Rob’s love for capturing landscapes, wildlife and other travel related images, took him to beautiful and exotic locations in Ireland, South Africa, Japan, Fiji, New Zealand, the US and more recently, Canada.
Having been instantly captivated by the natural beauty of British Columbia, Rob has been living in Vancouver for over 4 years and became a permanent Canadian resident in early 2008. He currently works full-time as the Creative Director for a web and software design company on the north shore and completes freelance design and photographic jobs in his limited free time.
Regular hiking and adventure trips into the BC interior, the Rockies and further north into the wilds of the Yukon, have provided him with boundless visual inspirations to capture photographically and share with family back home in Australia, as well as others around the world.
Shooting exclusively with Canon equipment since 2001, Rob currently shoots with a Canon 40D and Canon G11 utilizing a selection of telephoto, wide-angle and portrait lenses.
