Surprise footy win!

Well tonight was a bit of a surprise as far as footy went! Rocked up to the Morningside oval knowing that we had a double header tonight in order to cover two previous washed out rounds. The first game was going to be against a team of 'also-rans' while the second game was against the top team (we're second) which we had to win in order to meet them again next week in the Grand Final.

Turned out that the 'also-rans' made us earn our win with a strong second half performance that capitalised on an error in positional judgement made by us. Luke and I (traditionally defenders of our own goal third) moved to the forward line for something a little different and in the process exposed our defensive half of the ground. Lucky we both kicked a couple of goals in the end to secure an 11 point win.

We went into the second game knowing that we'd have our work cut out for us... but 'The Gurus' as the top team are known, never really put much of a fight up and we ran all over them for a really good win in the end!

Can't wait to meet them in the final next week now!!!
