The calm before the storm...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR MASEY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

With all of the engagements I have planned for this birthday weekend culminating in an absolute cracker tomorrow, today had to be spent doing some running around, shopping, paying bills... basically anything and everything that involves negative movement of my bank balance. EEK!

First off it was a trip across the Burrard bridge and up to 4th Ave to the Camtex shop to pick up my repaired video camera. Apparently it's fixed ($75 bucks later), but the heads in it are going to require replacing in the not too distant future by their estimates. They were good enough to tell me despite their limited English (lovely emotionless Eastern Europeans) that it's going to be an expensive trip next time! Yippeeeee! [ insert sarcastic undertones here ]

Next I went for a quick sweep through all the snow shops on 4th to drool a little more over the snowboards, binds and boots that still elude my possession due to lack of funds. I overcame the temptation to spoil myself on my birthday and simply took some notes and moved on.

Back in town I did a quick spot of clothes shopping to round out my team colours for tomorrow (ended up with a couple of absolute bargains), grabbed some groceries and headed home to spend some time online paying assorted bills.

Had time in the late afternoon for a quick nap before joining Tess and some of her close friends who leave for Thailand tomorrow morning, for some farewell Bellini cocktails at Milestone's on Robson.

All in all a fairly quiet way to spend a birthday... but really quite perfect in preperation for the big day tomorrow.
