Canucks vs Sabres

Remember the logo that I did for the "Rock101 Snow Team" for this season? Well the first part of my payment came through tonight with tickets to a Canucks game at GM Place. Freebies are, I guess the only way to get tickets now this season considering every home game is already sold out, so Ry and I made the best of the situation and planned to make a night of it. We were lucky enough to also receive a food and booze voucher to the value of $100 to spend at the "Kingston Pub" pre-game so we arranged to meet some of the crew (Dre, Bosh and Duke) for a few drinks and a bite to eat.
That out of the way it was off to the rink to catch the game between the Canucks and the visiting Buffalo Sabres. Considering we'd had a bit to drink, finding out that our seats were kind of mid row - equi-distant from each aisle wasn't all that crash hot, but all in all I think our bladders performed well and we didn't miss too much of the game.
There's not too much else to say really other than that I really enjoyed the game, loved how you get to see all the "peripheral" action that you don't get to see on the TV. Actually it's amazing how little time (45 seconds to a minute) each line spends on the ice each shift. The atmosphere in the stadium was pretty awesome but it wasn't enough to encourage a good old bout of "fisty-cuffs" between any of the players which was a bit of a disappointment. The Canucks, however, had a good and well needed victory in the end 4-1 so everyone went home "happy campers".
