My New Hero

His name is Matt Harding. I don't know him from a bar of soap and probably never will, but this intrepid traveler, it has been brought to my attention, has set a new level of "cool" in world travel.
Quite frankly I'm too lazy to give you the intro into the guy cause his videos justify my idolisation, but here's a nice set-up piece taken from his website www.wherethehellismatt.com explaining how the hell he has been able to visit and dance badly at so many amazing places around this big wide world of ours!
A few months into his trip, a travel buddy gave Matt the idea of dancing everywhere he went and recording it on his camera. This turned out to be a very good idea. Now Matt is quasi-famous as "That guy who dances on the Internet. No, not that guy. The other one. No, not him either. I'll send you the link. It's funny."
The response to the first video brought Matt to the attention of the nice people at Stride long-lasting gum. They asked Matt if he'd be interested in taking another trip around the world to make a new video. Matt asked if they'd be paying for it. They said yes. Matt thought this sounded like another very good idea.
At the start of 2006, Matt left on a 6 month trip through 39 countries on all 7 continents. In that time, he danced a great deal.
Anyway, just check the video below and you'll see why I sat here and smiled the whole way through the vid. Envious. Envious. I mean just check out the opening dance sequence in Bolivia! *Droolz* Coincidently, Bolivia is high on my "heading home from Canada" list for next Summer... stay tuned for that one!

This is absolutely awesome Rob. Found myself smiling and laughing through the whole thing. Great find Rob. Hope you get the chance to do this.
Yeah it's a damn good - he got listed as my Webhosting company "Dreamhost's Site of the Month" (DHSOTM) back in June, meaning that he got a singling out in their monthly newsletter just as he was finishing the second video. Given the size of Dreamhost, this newsletter must have a massive distribution list.. Not a bad way to get some world exposure for free from your webhost!!
Go and have a laugh at the diary entry from when he was in Brisbane and he got interviewed by a local newspaper - and as part of the photos taken for the article had to do his dance in the Queen Street Mall.. he felt and looked like a right twat!!
Hey Rob,
loved it, will be passing it on to my friends....makes my scrap book look boring next to that
