In preparation for my long anticipated attendance at John Mayer's Vancouver performance at the Pacific Colosseum next Tuesday (1st May), I thought I would rock along to his Blog and see what new things he's had to say recently.
The guy's not only in possession of unparalleled musical ability, he's also a fairly gifted writer and manages to squeeze out some well thought out and executed Blog entries, covering a broad range of subjects, in between performances on the road.
Currently in Winnipeg as part of his Spring Canada concert series, he published an entry today that touches on the motivation behind him penning one of his current hits "Waiting on the World to Change":
"Since that song has been released, there has been one social issue I've kept particularly focused on, silently keeping notes in my mind about what needs to be fixed (and more constructively, how to go about fixing it) while hoping that someone else sharing my exact views would carry out the work without my ever getting involved."
He goes on to talk about the changes he's making in his life this Summer to help reverse global warming. It's a decent little read and worth running your eyes over if you find the time. Visit the John Mayer Blog at "johnmayer.com" for the full entry.
In other musical news, I was stoked to find out last night that one of my other favourite bands, "O.A.R." are coming to town on June 21 this year and will be playing at the awesome "Commodore Ballroom". Thanks to my beautiful friend Cassie, I already have a ticket and I'm stoked!

Well, you have tickets already do you? Time to get my ass in gear and get some!
They went on general sale about an hour ago so that might be a good idea mate!
