TITLE

Yes, it's that time of the year again when a bunch of Vancouverites grab a paddle, jump into small dragon-head-encrusted boats and thrash like crazy for a couple of minutes as they glide their way up False Creek towards the unmistakable dome of Science World. This year I at least had an excuse to make my way down to the "aquatic circus" known as the "Alcan Dragon Boat Festival" as Michelle's "Orca Bay" team were competing in their division final. So, after a nice little sleep in, I headed down to meet BJ and Jess at the edge of the water in the hope that we'd be able to snag a half-decent vantage point to watch the races for a couple of hours.

As it turned out, we did grab a pretty good spot parallel to the finish line from an elevated position. The only downside to where we ended up was the fact that it was totally unprotected from the somewhat chilly winds that had developed as the afternoon progressed.

So to the photos. Michelle is front of the white boat number 7 on the left hand side (pulled back curly blonde hair). That's about all you need to know...
