Brisbane Broncos vs South Sydney Rabbitohs

Somehow on this brief trip home to Brisbane, I managed to time a weekend where the city's two premiere football teams the mighty Brisbane Lions (AFL) and the Brisbane Broncos (NRL) were both playing at home.

As far as the Lions go, I have to admit I timed my trip to include their home game today - the first I've managed to see live since I headed over to Vancouver. I headed out to that big beautiful stadium - "The Gabba" with Cobie, Greg and Angie to watch the Lions soundly trounce the Melbourne Demons 137-85.

My tickets for the Broncos, on the other hand, was a stroke of luck with Dad winning corporate box seats for the two of us to attend the game Friday night with full transportation, bar and dinner provided. Although the corporate box seating was comfortable to the max and we were well catered for all game, the whole experience was lacking for me a tad, as being boxed up in your little glass room cut all the atmosphere out that you normally witness in such an awesome stadium. Regardless, the boys put together a good win beating the hapless Rabbitohs 32-18 giving me a 2 from 2 win ratio for the weekend! Woot woot!

I did my best to shoot a few images during both games (click on the image above to view)... and yes, the number of shots of the Broncos cheer girls is 100% indicative of how interested I am in the actual game of Rugby League...
