2008 Corona Open - Beach Volleyball

Spent some of this afternoon down on the sun soaked sands of Kitsilano Beach trying out my sparkling new Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM lens to see how good it really is.

Predictably, the 2008 Corona Open Beach Volleyball Tournament threw up a wealth of great photo opportunities and I was beyond happy with the performance of the lens. You can check out my gallery of images by clicking on the image on the left, and don't worry ladies, although the gallery kicks off with some great bodies from the ladies semi-final games, you get your own allocation of eye-candy as well...

Great set of pics! Loving your new camera? That lens is a beauty - I borrowed one for a couple weeks a while back.

Yeah the new 40D coupled with the new lens seems to be a winning combination so far. Really looking forward to the first of the Festival of Light performances this Wednesday...

I am jealous Roberto! That is the next lens I want to get. The f2.8 and IS to boot. You've splashed out!

Worth EVERY extra penny for the f/2.8 and the IS - TRUST ME!

And TRUST ME when I say my loose pennies ain't going to be finding their way into any down town bum's cup for the next few months...

She ain't light that's for sure! Will hopefully have some fireworks shots from last night, taken with that lens, posted by the end of the weekend...
