Since it’s #MusicMonday in Twitter land, I thought I’d take a little time this morning to compile a special playlist for your listening pleasure. The list below features a number of the great songs that Apple plucked, sometimes from obscurity, and placed into their various TV ads (for iPods etc) over the past few years.

In doing so, Apple also thrust these songs to “top of mind” for any Apple fans and consumers who came across their catchy and effective ads.

Unless you have had your head stuck in the sand somewhere, you would have already seen or heard something about the upcoming Apple iPhone, the next iPod-replacing innovation announced Tuesday at the annual Apple “geek-meet”.

It’s been posted all over the Blogosphere, but I realise some of my readers don’t read a lot of other Blogs and aren’t all that “techie” so here’s a brief demo of what this amazing gadget is going to be able to do for you.

A few notes before you watch the vid below

The iPhone will combine your iPod, phone and handheld Internet device into one hell of a high tech, sexy gadget.
The “white dot” in the demo below represents your finger movements as the widescreen device is fully touch screen activated.
Yes, the display actually does change when you switch it around in your hand from landscape to portrait orientation. There’s a sensor built in that detects this movement. Yikes!
Apple may yet have a battle on their hands getting the device to the masses. The launch of the iPhone is already up against a number of legal challenges over the use of the name amongst other things, and in order for the device to go mainstream, it’s going to require a HUGE collaborative effort with telecommunications companies in each country of launch. It’s fair to say therefore, that in Australia where the telecommunications infrastructure is archaic and years behind the rest of the world, there will be no point in getting excited about the iPhone at this stage. Sorry.

Time Sapping iPod

Who would’ve thought that prepping music for an iPod would be so damn time consuming! I spent practically the entire weekend ‘ripping’ my CD collection to MP3′s, transferring them to my iPod and then attempting to add cover art to all the tracks.

In some ways it’s a good thing that the Lions played so pathetically on Saturday cause it gave me the opportunity to walk away and get some more CD’s done.

Here’s hoping it’ll all be ‘said and done’ by the end of the week…

iPod Photo 30GB!!!!

Well I finally took the plunge today and through some money into my very own iPod!!! I’m so excited! It’s going to become my best friend while I’m on the road in Canada!

Have started preparing CD’s already and I have roughly 2,000 songs ready to go!!!!
