Joaquin Phoenix on David Letterman

Did you catch Joaquin Phoenix’s bizarre appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” last night? Well if that wasn’t one of the most awkward interviews you ever did see. In true Letterman style though, he made something out of an uncomfortable performance by Phoenix, and provided laughs for the crowd, even if they were only nervous giggles.

UPDATE: A year and a half after the infamous interview (above), Joaquin returned to the Ed Sullivan Theater to fess up on what his bizarre behaviour was really all about. And Dave? Well Dave just wanted to get his cut of the stunt earnings.

I mentioned a couple of days ago how Dave Letterman’s official website recently got a face lift to dramatically improve not only the overall layout, but also the multimedia/video section known as “Dave TV”.

Today I’m going to provide, probably for my own use as much as anyone else’s, a one-stop reference point for finding out which guests are coming up on all of the major (specifically CBS and NBC) late night and talk shows:

Letterman Clips Revamped

It seems that the web crew over at CBS.com have recently given Dave Letterman’s website the once over and the results are pretty awesome I must say. I generally visit the site once a day to find out who’s going to be on the show on any given night, but I also use it to view/relive clips from previous interviews and shows.

In the past the video section of his site, known as “DaveTV” has been a bit clumsy and hard to navigate. Not any more. Categorised, tagged and fully searchable, it’s never been easier to find your favourite clips or interviews with your favourite stars.

You may need the “Real Player” plugin for whatever browser you are using, but you’ll be prompted to download and install it if and when required.

You can, of course peruse the same sort of clips on the “Jay Leno” or “Conan O’Brien” sites, but the indexing is no where near as intuitive or effective.
